This feature allows the attendant or PMS to assign the following VIP settings for an extension or suite:
VIP Status: Any one of nine different VIP status labels can be assigned to an extension or suite. When the guest places a call to the front desk, the label appears on the attendant console or display phone, enabling hotel staff to answer appropriately. The label does not appear when the guest places a call to another room or an external destination.
VIP Wakeup: If this feature is enabled, the guest will always receive a personal wake-up call, even if the extension is configured to receive an automatic wake-up call. This feature is available to both VIP and non-VIP guests.
The VIP status and wakeup settings (and all other Guest Services functions) cannot be set from a 5540 IP Console in a Clustered Hospitality environment.
If the Suppress Delivery of Caller ID Display between Sets COS option is enabled on the originating set, the VIP status label is not displayed.
VIP status will only be displayed if a Name is entered for the Guest Room in the Telephone Directory form.
All display-equipped sets except the 5505 SIP Phone support the display of VIP status labels.
Hotel
Options form
Use the VIP1 to VIP9 options to enter up to nine VIP status labels. For example, enter "Conference" for VIP1, "Honeymoon" for VIP2, and "Anniversary for VIP3.
To enable a regular phone to display the VIP status of a guest room, enable the Display VIP COS option.
To ensure that the status code is visible, disable Suppress Caller ID for the guest room phone (or enable Suppress Caller ID - Override for the hotel phone).
NOTE: VIP Status and VIP Wakeup operate independently. You can enable one or both features on a guest room extension.
